We decided to become foster carers last year and approached a number of independent fostering agencies as well as St Helens Borough Council.  We opted to go with St Helens Borough Council as we felt that as St Helens residents ourselves it was important to support children and families in our Borough. 

We have been pleased with the level of support we received throughout the assessment process and since becoming registered foster carers. There are many opportunities to connect with other carers and a vast offer of training as well as support from the fostering team. 

We are now able to say with confidence that fostering, as well as having its challenges, is a very rewarding and purposeful experience.
