I’ve been around small children all my life; from being the eldest of 5 to raising my own three children. As my sons got older the house seemed so quiet and I deeply missed having little ones around.
In 2019, I finally took the plunge and applied to foster. We’ve now had a sibling group of 2 placed with us for 9 months and fostering has been everything I’d hoped for. The house is lively and full of laughter, my sons have embraced their new role and adore the little ones.
Fostering is not without its challenges; the children have suffered trauma and need help to deal with the emotions around that but the sense of fulfilment in being there for children who desperately need you makes the hard days worthwhile. Quite simply, it’s the best job I have ever had!
